Jane Schafer

Jane is co-Owner and Operator of The Summerlin Golf Academy and has been teaching golf for the past 25 years.  Jane is a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Golf Fitness Instructor.  TPI's 'Philosophy of the Swing' states, " We don't bellieve there is one way to swing a club; we believe there are an infinite number of ways to swing a club.  But we do believe that there is one efficient way for everyone to swing and it is based on what they can physically do."  By working to enhance a student's efficiency, ball striking will improve and swing speed will increase leading to a marked improvement in accuracy and distance.  With improved techniques on the short game and the full swing, students will be able to lower their scores leading to a heightened enjoyment of the game.

Jane was also trained by Paul Chek in the bio mechanics of the golf swing at the Chek Institute in San Diego, California. Jane's knowledge has enhanced her students' flexibility and strength, ultimately enabling them to avoid injury, improve technique, accuracy, and distance, leading to overall improvements in their game.  This knowledge gained at both the Titleist Performance Institute and the Chek Institute enables her to maximize her students' potential.  Her knowledge of the golf swing, passion, and endless pursuit of detail truly make Jane one of the best teachers in the game today.  Jane has been actively involved in teaching adults and an average of over 300 different junior students per year.  Over the years, many of Jane's junior students have competed locally and nationally.  Many have led local high school golf teams and ultimately received college golf scholarships.

Jane is originally from Wheeling, West Virginia and started playing golf at the age of 10.  She played golf in college for Marshall University in West Virginia.  She won the Nevada State Women's Amateur Championship three times and has held multiple course records.  She qualified and participated nationally in the US Women's Amateur Public Links Championship five years in a row.  Jane also served as a USGA Women's Committee Member.  Her degree in early childhood education from Eastern Connecticut State College enhances her ability to work with students and recognize a variety of learning styles.

Whether you wish to pursue the game recreationally or competitively, Jane will enjoy working with you on your journey.  Private and group lessons may be scheduled by calling Jane directly @ 702-300-4673.
