Boot Camp is an exciting new program that will help build core strength and balance during your golf lesson. It is designed for the junior golfer that can see the long term benefits of a strong, flexible body. With Tom's expertise of the golf swing and Jane's biomechanical background this program is tailor made for the Summerlin Golf Academy.

 

Tom's teacher Jimmy Ballard always said the dog wags the tail. If you understand that theory, then you better train the dog. Tom and Jane believe the reason most juniors do not reach their expectations in golf is partially due to their physical condition. In the last ten years most children have become less physically fit. The strength in their leg and core muscles is just not enough for them to be the best player they can be. Kids spend too much time in front of the computer, the television set and text messaging. Years ago children would play outside more. They would walk to school and perform normal activities that would strengthen their feet and legs. Now we notice a significant difference between a child who has been active in another sport ( which has stressed conditioning like Gymnastics) compared to the same age student who has not participated in consistent physical exercise. Most golfers compare themselves to other successful players. Most of the time they are comparing apples to oranges. With our new Boot Camp program we can educate both child and parent on ways to improve their physical condition. This will allow the student to continue improving their mechanical skills.
